Fundamentals of the Learn Ultra Course Development

In this 2-hour webinar, participants will expand their understanding of Learn SaaS and the Ultra experience. During the session participants will engage with the facilitator through various discussion and demonstrations of the Ultra Course Experience. By the end of this session you should be able identify the types of content that can be added to a courses, understand how to add content, grade assignments, identify the gradebook workflow, and create and monitor discussions.

This workshop is designed for participants who will manage the institution's Blackboard Learn platform from a functional standpoint. The content introduces participants to the Graphical User Interface (GUI) based administration of Blackboard Learn. It covers the essential tools and functions accessible through the Administrator Panel of the application in the browser interface.

Learn Administration Services

REMOTE

This engagement provides the client with assistance in configuring their Learn system. The program comprises five synchronous two-hour sessions delivered remotely via Blackboard Collaborate. The goal is to help the client customize their Blackboard environment so that it best serves their particular instructional goals and institutional structure. These sessions are designed to address configuration sessions via the GUI (Graphic User Interface). They will not cover technical topics, including but not limited to server maintenance and installation.

Learn More Together provides a way to train faculty in a flexible way while budgeting training dollars in advance. Four separate delivery engagements of our Learn Teaching Readiness workshop are included in this service, providing a cost savings to our clients through the purchase of training in bulk. The package offers an institution the opportunity to increase adoption significantly and improve course quality. The workshops provide general training as well as customized, targeted sessions to address more advanced faculty needs.

This online course provides a self-paced introduction to the Blackboard Learn course environment. It highlights some of the instructional tools that can enhance student learning and save time for instructors. This course includes modules for Original and Ultra Course Views.


Learn Teaching Essentials for Ultra

ONLINE

This lightly facilitated, self-paced online course is designed for faculty, teachers, course builders, and trainers who are ready to adopt the Ultra experience for building courses in Blackboard Learn. It covers how to navigate a site using the Ultra experience as well as how to begin building courses in the Ultra Course View.


Getting Started with Blackboard Learn Original

ONLINE

Getting Started with Blackboard Learn Original is recommended for novice Blackboard users. It introduces the course environment from a student and instructor perspective as well as first steps in setting up a course. This course is not required for those taking the Original certification courses.


Learn Teaching Essentials Certification for Original

ONLINE

In this facilitated online course covering Learn Original, you will learn the basics of building a course, how to effectively select communication tools to increase student engagement, and how to design effective assessment activities. The course is divided into three main areas: Building Courses, Enhancing Communication, and Assessing Learners.


Learn Advanced Teaching Certification for Original

ONLINE

In this facilitated online course, you will explore the tools and features that help to monitor and evaluate student performance; learn about the advanced collaboration tools available; and discover new strategies for effectively designing, organizing, and presenting content to increase student success. The course is divided into three main areas: Monitoring Student Performance, Building Online Communities, and Designing Engaging Content.


Learn More Online

ONLINE

Learn More Online provides a way to train faculty in a flexible way while budgeting training dollars in advance. The online courses cover a variety of topics in two different modes of delivery, self-paced and facilitated, to accommodate diverse learning preferences and busy teaching schedules. Together, the package offers an institution the opportunity to increase adoption significantly and improve course quality. There are two options in this bulk training package. Option 1 includes seats in Introduction to Blackboard, Learn Teaching Essentials Certification for Original, and Learn Advanced Teaching Certification for Original. Option 2 includes seats in Introduction to Blackboard Learn and Learn Teaching Essentials for Ultra.


Learn Administration Essentials Certification

This course introduces you to the functional administration of the Blackboard Learn platform via the Graphical User Interface (GUI). It is appropriate for the following platform deployments: Self-Hosted, Blackboard Managed Hosted, or SaaS. There are three certification tracks within the course: Original, Ultra or Dual.


Getting Started with Online Course Design

The goal of this course is to help teachers get started with designing online courses. This course prepares participants to build an online course, reviews best practices for online course design, and provides participants with an Online Course Planning Document to use while planning and designing online courses. This course focuses on course design and is not platform specific. It is relevant to all participants, regardless of the Learning Management System used for delivering courses.

Blackboard Open Content (formerly xpLor)

This course provides a self-paced introduction to using Blackboard Open Content from the Blackboard Learn Original Course View. It is designed for participants who already have a foundation in using Blackboard Learn Original to build courses.

Building Block Essentials

ONLINE

The objective of the self-paced Blackboard Building Block Essentials Online Course is to provide clients with the knowledge necessary to successfully build Blackboard Learn application extensions. This online training introduces the client to Blackboard Building Blocks through readings, recordings, assignments, and assessments designed to demonstrate the client's mastery of the course objective of becoming self-sufficient in their Blackboard Building Block development activities.

LTI and REST Application Essentials (Coming Soon)

ONLINE

LTI and REST Application Essentials introduces the client to the fundamental concepts, standards and techniques used to extend the Blackboard Learn platform using LTI and associated standards and REST web services. Through readings, recordings, assignments, and assessments, this self-paced course is designed to help the client master such topics as the LTI standards, REST web services and Learn-specific integration aspects of building out-of-process applications such as available placements, available APIs and using the API gateway.

Integrations Framework Online Course

ONLINE

The objective of the self-paced Integrations Framework Online Course is to provide Blackboard Learn clients with the knowledge necessary to successfully implement the SIS Integration Framework tool. It will provide the client with an understanding of best practices around planning, auditing, guidance, scripting technique overview, troubleshooting and general overview and implementation of the data integration process.


Server Administrator Certification

ONLINE REMOTE FACILITATED

This hybrid course prepares the institution to set up a Self-Hosted instance of Blackboard Learn that includes managing a self-hosted Blackboard Learn installation at the operating system level for Redhat Linux, Solaris Unix OS, or Windows OS. This course has both an online asynchronous component and a remote synchronous component via Collaborate.


Authentication Framework TKT

REMOTE

The objective of the Authentication Framework Technical Knowledge Transfer (TKT) service is to assist the client in configuring the Blackboard Learn software to integrate with their current LDAP, CAS, or Shibboleth Identity Provider infrastructure such as Active Directory Federated Services (ADFS), etc. by providing a remote mentored engagement.


Building Block Technical Knowledge Transfer

ONSITE

The objective of the Blackboard Building Block Technical Knowledge Transfer service is to provide clients with the knowledge necessary to successfully build Blackboard Learn application extensions. This onsite workshop includes information, technical exercises, development examples, and documentation so that the client becomes self-sufficient in their Blackboard Building Block development activities.


LTI and REST Technical Knowledge Transfer (Coming Soon)

ONSITE

This onsite workshop service provides clients with the knowledge necessary to successfully extend the Blackboard Learn platform using LTI and associated standards and REST web services. The workshop is available in two- or four-day format, and covers the LTI standard, REST web services, and Learn-specific integration topics such as available placements, available APIs and using the API gateway.


Custom Theme TKT

ONSITE

The objective of the Custom Theme Technical Knowledge Transfer (TKT) is to provide Blackboard Learn clients with the knowledge necessary to successfully implement branding changes to the Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), thus altering the presentation of colors and fonts in their institution's Blackboard Learn theme.


Integration Technical Knowledge Transfer

REMOTE

The objective of the SIS Integration Technical Knowledge Transfer (TKT) is to provide a remotely delivered mentoring service to a client moving to the new SIS Integration Framework found in Blackboard Learn Release 9.1 Service Pack 8 and later from the Snapshot Controller. This service will provide the client with planning, auditing, guidance, scripting technique overview, troubleshooting, and a final report documenting the data integration process.


Integration Custom Scripting Service

REMOTE

The objective of the Student Information System (SIS) Integration Custom Scripting Service is to provide an overview and training of the Blackboard Learn SIS integration custom scripting functionality. This service is intended for clients who have implemented the IMS Learning Information Services (LIS) integration method. This service will provide the client with Learn scripting overview, training and documentation.


Open Database Technical Knowledge Transfer

ONSITE/REMOTE

The objective of the Open Database Reporting Technical Knowledge Transfer service is to provide clients with the knowledge necessary to successfully build Blackboard Learn reports, by providing a 2-day onsite workshop or expanded remote delivery that includes documentation, technical exercises, ad-hoc queries, and a final report delivered by Blackboard Consulting that will enable the client to become self-sufficient in their Blackboard database and report generation activities.


System Administration Technical Knowledge Transfer

ONSITE

The System Administration Mentoring and Technical Knowledge Transfer service educates clients to successfully administer the Blackboard Learn system through a 3-day onsite or remote workshop to help position the client team to become self-sufficient and effective at the management and administration of the Blackboard Learn system.
